Maindee festival is a volunteer-run organisation that puts on festivals yearly as a big part of the community.
This year we had different themed events. We had a street party with different stalls and a samba band parade. We also had a music festival we local acts playing live & food.

One of the most recent tasks I was given through the festival was to update the charity logo. They liked the old logo but wanted to make it more legible and make it feel more modern.
I started by breaking it down into elements from typography, colour palette, shape, etc. Above is an example of the process I use to begin a project. Part of my process is just scribbling down ideas and making them more coherent as I go along.
Once I had sketched a few ideas, I showed the chair, vice-chair and secretary of the charity. They were happy with my ideas, so I got to making a few prototypes.

Creating these videos has been quite a challenge. Firstly we have to meet different criteria depending on which organisation we are applying for funding from. In the storyboarding process, we have to make sure they understand why we need the funding, how much we need & what we would use the funding for. Then we have to get approval from each Board Trustee member. After which we go into production.
